Burundi
In Burundi, The Giving Hand launched impactful projects: food aid for families, support for orphanages, and the construction of two mosques. Real change begins with connection — and this is just the beginning.
In the heart of East Africa lies Burundi — a beautiful yet often overlooked country. It’s here that The Giving Hand took its first steps in bringing impactful and lasting change.
Our journey began through a unique connection. Introduced by a devoted brother, we were put in touch with a sister in Burundi. Soon after, we met her husband — a respected imam in the region. This meaningful collaboration gave us direct access to the local community and a clear understanding of their most urgent needs.
Together with my dear friend Sibo — who is of Burundian descent and the filmmaker behind our documentary — we traveled to Burundi. What we witnessed deeply moved us. But even more powerful was what we were able to achieve together.
🔹 Food Packages for the Poorest
We distributed food packages to families in desperate need. What many take for granted was a rare blessing for them. Thanks to our generous donors, we were able to help dozens of families survive.
🔹 Visiting Orphanages
We visited several orphanages, offering the children love and attention while exploring how we can provide them with long-term support. These encounters became the emotional heart of our mission.
🔹 Construction of a Mosque
By the will of Allah, we successfully completed the construction of an entire mosque — a sanctuary for prayer, peace, and community.
🔹 Foundation of a Second Mosque
Our mission gained even more momentum as we laid the foundation for a second mosque. This marks an important first step toward building a new house of worship and unity.
